The Blue Tees Golf Series 3 Max rangefinder didn’t perform as well as expected in our 2022 Best Rangefinder test, ranking 14th out of 24, which was a bit disappointing considering the product’s marketing and positive reception.
In this review, we share our experiences testing the Blue Tees Max 3 on the golf course, evaluating its accuracy, speed and overall build quality compared to other top rangefinders in the market.
Despite claiming to be accurate within 1 yard, our testing revealed an average 1-2-yard error from 100 to 200 yards. While this isn’t bad, it doesn’t quite meet the rangefinder’s accuracy claim.
I also assessed the accuracy of the slope function on the golf course. Although we couldn’t measure against the actual elevation, the Blue Tees rangefinder showed differences of 1 to 2 yards compared to the Bushnell V6 and Cobalt Q6 slope measurements. The 1-2-yard discrepancy might influence this difference in distance measurement.
These findings don’t necessarily discourage purchasing the Blue Tees Max 3, but it’s essential to be aware that, in reality, the rangefinder may have a 0 to 2-yard error with your yardages.
Accuracy
I test all rangefinders by aiming at targets from 50 to 200 yards and comparing them with a premium rangefinder. The Blue Tees Max 3 scored a total accuracy measure of 99.4%.

The issue with the Blue Tees rangefinder is not its accuracy within 150 yards; it performs well in that range. However, beyond 150 yards, the pin-seeker technology doesn’t lock onto the pin as effectively, making users less confident in the readings. If you typically use your rangefinder within 150 yards, this might not be a concern for you.

The Blue Tees Series 3 Max is fast; you’ll get your yardage in under a second, and switching between modes is easy and quick. It also features Flag Lock technology, which swiftly picks up the flag.
The speed rating was 12th out of 24, which is not a cause for concern. We didn’t feel like we had to wait for the yardage to load up; it’s just not exceptionally fast. When the slope is turned on, this rangefinder tends to be a bit slower.

Out of the box, the all-black color looks sleek and high-quality, featuring a good carry case and a simple design. This simplicity makes it feel secure in your hand, making measurement easier.
The display of the Blue Tees Golf Series 3 Max rangefinder ranked eighth out of 24, making it the best category for this device. You can choose between black or red text, and only one number is displayed at a time. If you prefer a clean and efficient delivery of information, Blue Tees is a good choice.

Honestly, this is where the Blue Tees Golf Series 3 Max rangefinder belongs. It doesn’t have anything particularly unique, but it also doesn’t lack in any major way. Performance
The Blue Tees Series 3 Max Rangefinder is easy to use and quick on the golf course. It adjusts to different lighting, and while it worked well on a sunny day, some might find the numbers a bit small. Compared to the Bushnell Pro XE, it performed similarly.
