Amazon Affiliate Disclaimer

Affiliate Disclosure & Editorial Policy

We earn commissions from qualifying purchases. This page explains exactly how that works, what it means for you, and how we keep our reviews honest regardless.

What you need to know before reading anything on this site

  • We use affiliate links. When you click a link on this site and buy something, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
  • Commissions never change our ratings. A product earns its score based on performance, not on how much it pays us.
  • We only recommend what we’d genuinely use. If we wouldn’t put it in our own bag, we won’t put it on this site.
  • Affiliate links are labeled. Look for the “affiliate link” tag or the → Check Price button in reviews.
  • This disclosure appears on every review post — not just this page.

Our Affiliate Relationships

Sincere Golfer participates in affiliate marketing programs. This means that some links on this site to product pages, retailers or services are affiliate links. If you click one of these links and complete a qualifying purchase, we receive a small commission from the retailer.

We currently maintain affiliate partnerships with the following types of programs (specific programs may be added or removed over time):

  • Amazon Associates Program (Amazon.com)
  • Golf equipment and apparel brand affiliate programs
  • Online golf retail affiliate programs (e.g. GlobalGolf, Rain or Shine Golf, etc.)
  • Golf technology and app subscription affiliate programs
  • Golf training aid and simulator affiliate programs

Important: The price you pay is never affected

Affiliate commissions are paid to us by the retailer from their own margin. You do not pay more by clicking our links. In many cases, we negotiate or surface discount codes that reduce the price you pay.

This disclosure is made in compliance with the United States Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines on endorsements and testimonials, specifically 16 CFR Part 255 – Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising. We believe clear disclosure is both a legal requirement and the right thing to do for our readers.

How to Spot an Affiliate Link on This Site

We believe in making affiliate links obvious, not hiding them. Here is how they appear across the site:

  • In-text links within review articles — these are standard hyperlinks that lead to a retailer’s product page. Where space allows, we label them [affiliate link].
  • “Check Price” or “See on Amazon” buttons — any button linking to a product for purchase is an affiliate link.
  • Product comparison tables — retailer links within our comparison tables are affiliate links.
  • Gear picks and “best of” roundups — product cards in roundup articles link to affiliate retailer pages.

All other links to rules of golf, golf governing bodies (USGA, R&A), research sources, manufacturer specifications, and our own internal pages are non-affiliate links and earn us nothing.

Editorial Independence — Our Non-Negotiable Policy

Affiliate income funds the time and resources that go into our research, testing, and writing. It does not and will never influence how we rate or describe a product.

Our editorial commitments, in plain terms:

  • Rankings are earned, not bought. No brand can pay for a higher position in our reviews or roundups. Placements are determined by testing criteria alone.
  • We will recommend against expensive options when a cheaper product genuinely outperforms. Commission rate does not factor into our conclusions.
  • Negative findings are published. If a product underperforms, breaks quickly, or misrepresents its specs, we say so even if we have an affiliate relationship with the seller.
  • Sponsored content is labeled separately. If a brand has paid for sponsored placement (e.g. a sponsored post or brand spotlight), it will be clearly labeled “Sponsored” at the top of the article. Sponsored content is kept separate from our independent reviews.
  • We decline products that don’t meet our standards. We turn down affiliate opportunities for products we would not genuinely recommend to a friend.

How We Research and Write Reviews

We apply a consistent evaluation framework across all reviews and buying guides on this site. Our process typically includes:

  1. Primary research — reading manufacturer specifications, Tour data, independent lab tests, Ai test and peer-reviewed golf science where available.
  2. Aggregated user feedback — analyzing verified buyer reviews across multiple retail platforms to surface common praise and recurring complaints.
  3. Expert community input — drawing on published insights from PGA teaching professionals, club fitters, and equipment analysts.
  4. Hands on testing — where we have directly tested a product, this is stated explicitly in the review. Where we have not, the review is based on documented research and will say so.
  5. Ongoing updates — reviews are updated when product lines change, pricing shifts significantly or new competitor products alter our recommendations. The “Last Updated” date on each review reflects these revisions.

A note on “best” claims

When we say a product is “the best” in a category, we mean it is our top recommendation based on the criteria we evaluated for a specific type of golfer. “Best” is contextual – the best driver for a 20 handicapper is not the best driver for a scratch golfer. We always specify who a recommendation is for.

What We Don’t Do

In the interest of complete transparency, here is a clear list of practices this site does not engage in:

  • We do not publish fabricated or invented customer testimonials.
  • We do not display fake “verified buyer” reviews authored by our team.
  • We do not accept payment in exchange for positive review scores.
  • We do not use misleading countdown timers or artificial scarcity claims.
  • We do not place affiliate links inside content without disclosure.
  • We do not recommend products we have not researched.
  • We do not hide financial relationships with brands or retailers.

If you ever see content on this site that appears to violate any of the above, please contact us immediately. We take these standards seriously and will investigate promptly.
